This case study investigates the design, integration, and operational performance of a greywater recycling system within Clearpoint Residencies, a pioneering sustainable high-rise residential project located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The purpose of the study is to identify the process of the greywater recycling using the Andrew Campbell’s Operating Model Canvas. This includes evaluating six key areas of process, organization, location, information, suppliers, and management systems. The study adopted a qualitative case study approach, using semi-structured interviews with project stakeholders and a review of technical and institutional documents. Analysis was guided by the Operating Model Canvas framework, examining six operational dimensions. Data were thematically analyzed to identify implementation challenges, strengths, and strategic responses. The findings reveal that Clearpoint Residencies successfully implemented a greywater recycling system that collects water from showers and washbasins, treats it through anaerobic and aerobic processes, and reuses it for toilet flushing and landscape irrigation. And this study also identify the key main challenges associate with this process. The study’s originality lies in applying the Operating Model Canvas to analyze greywater system operations in a high-rise building in Sri Lankan context. This study offers practical insights for replicating sustainable water management strategies in urban developments, emphasizing the need for integrated planning, technical expertise, and stakeholder alignment.
